Annotation: The article discusses the role of the translator in the literary translation and the translation process. At the same time, the development of the events and characters' images in the German writer Bruno Apitz's novel " Naked among the wolves " are described in the Uzbek language. The analysis of the work translated directly from the German language allows to determine the artistic talent of the translator.
