Annotation: This article proposes a system of exercises effective in improving the written discursive competence of journalism students. Such exercises prepare students well for the task at hand and provide them with information they can use at the next major stage. Also, such exercises increase students' interest in the subject and provide an opportunity to understand the necessity of performing the task at the next stage.
