Annotation: A distinctive feature of the written version of the journalistic text message is its functional orientation, which implies an orientation towards achieving a certain goal and completing a specific task. Indeed, in order to create a text, the author must clearly understand why he is doing this, what goals he sets for himself. This knowledge of goals not only guides the writing process, but also determines the choice of language tools and strategies. In Korean newspaper discourse, euphemisms occur quite often and have significant manipulative potential due to their diverse and strong abilities to influence the consciousness of the addressee.
Keywords: journalistic text; speech strategies; text flexibility; euphemisms; manipulative potential.
