Annotation: The article is devoted to the study of the theoretical foundations and practical application of gaming technologies in teaching the Japanese language. In the context of the rapid development of digital technologies and increased demands for the interactivity of the educational process, gaming approaches are becoming particularly relevant, especially in the study of languages such as Japanese, with its unique writing system and cultural characteristics. The article examines the main theories and studies confirming the effectiveness of gaming methods in teaching, provides examples of the successful use of digital platforms such as WaniKani, Lingodeer and Rosetta Stone, and highlights the key benefits and challenges of their implementation. Particular attention is paid to gamification and its impact on motivation, material acquisition, development of communication skills and cultural adaptation. The author concludes that gaming technologies not only facilitate the study of complex aspects of the Japanese language, but also open up prospects for further innovations in teaching.
