Annotation: The article focuses on the role of macroeconomic conditions in the country in shaping the national innovation strategy and the transition to an innovative model of development. The specific priorities of China's innovative development, clear forms of innovation strategy and important government programs are analyzed. The results of the development of innovations in the country before and after the COVID-19 pandemic are presented.
