Annotation: Political speech is one of the speech forms of common interest. The majority of political speakers commented on important events and practical issues at home and abroad from a political perspective. Therefore, its translation must be accurate, specific and true; This paper analyzes the translation strategies of words and phrases in political speeches by using of amplification and omission techniques and literal translation. And studies the English translation of Chinese idioms and proverbs in political speeches to provide translation strategies for political speeches
