Annotation: The department was established in 1947, and at first it operated under the name "North Indian Philology" (1947), then "Indian Philology" and since 1993 "Languages of South Asia". From 2018, it will be called the "Languages of South and Southeast Asia" department. The educational process at the department is carried out in two stages, i.e. bachelor's degree (field of study 60230100-Philology and language teaching) and master's degree (70230101 - Linguistics (on Eastern languages)).
