Annotation: The structure of language education system varies from country to country, due to the differences in cultural backgrounds, demands from society and government policy. Inevitably transferring credits or conducting research collaboration across countries are affected by these factors. This short report maps out how Japanese language education is situated in the Australian tertiary education system and discusses its advantages and disadvantages in the event of exchanging credits with Uzbek universities. Useful ideas and pedagogical suggestions for the future development of Uzbek tertiary education will be provided at the end of the report.
