Annotation: The article examines the linguocultural representation of the concept 和 (hé) “harmony” in contemporary Chinese diplomatic discourse. It analyzes the traditional semantic content of 和 and its relationship with the principle 和而不同 (hé ér bù tóng), “harmony while preserving differences.” Based on official diplomatic speeches and texts by Chinese leaders and representatives of China’s foreign policy institutions from 2005 to 2024, the study identifies the main linguistic means through which this concept is represented. Particular attention is paid to the recontextualization of the traditional semantics of 和 in contemporary diplomatic communication. The analysis demonstrates that the concept retains the idea of achieving harmony while recognizing differences and simultaneously acquires new semantic and pragmatic characteristics. The study identifies harmonizing, inclusive, argumentative, and linguocultural-identificational functions of 和 in contemporary Chinese diplomatic discourse.
