Annotation: If we consider the relationship between Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi and Shams Tabrizi from the point of view of Sufism and literature, it becomes clear that they have a unique spiritual structure. In this article, this relationship is interpreted hermeneutically through the categories "student and mentor." With the help of a hermeneutic approach, the image of Shams was considered not only as a historical figure, but also as a semantic phenomenon. The article interprets the issue of the murid-murad relationship between Rumi and Shams Tabrizi based on classical mystical and modern literary-hermeneutical analysis.
