Annotation: This article studies the role of modern patriotism in Chinese state policy and the formation of national identity. It examines the main factors that are behind the growth of patriotic feelings among young people, including historical memory, the idea of the “Chinese Dream”, the system of patriotic education, digital space and mass culture. Special attention is also given to the influence of youth culture, internet platforms and modern cultural products on the spread of patriotic ideas in Chinese society.
