Annotation: In Chinese demonstrative pronouns have a long history. Demonstrative pronouns used in classical literature are distinguished by their features related to Wenyan. In modern Chinese, Putonghua, although the show usually uses alternatives to rhymes, they are still common in formal, artistic, and journalistic styles. This article analyzes several of the demonstrative pronouns of ancient Chinese based on examples from various historical sources and examines their lexical and syntactic features. The article also provides information on the current use of demonstrative pronouns in ancient Chinese.
