Annotation: The article analyzes the ancient Russian translations of the private letters of the Khivans of the 17th century, stored in the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts in Moscow, and the oriental words found in them. Particular attention is drawn to orientalisms with new semantics, which are not marked in the dictionaries of the Russian language.
