Annotation: This article deals with such problems as the relationship of a young family in the social life of India in the 50s and 60s, equality in the family, the relationship of father and mother and child, a woman's attempt to decide her fate, the question of the relationship of different generations, the place and role of a person in the new India on the example of the story "Value", which are relevant to modern Hindi literature.
