Annotation: This article presents an analysis of phraseological units in which the hieroglyph 寿[shòu] of longevity, one of the components of the “五福 [wǔfú] happiness” model, was involved. The “五福 [wǔfú] happiness” model, which represents the concept of happiness in the national linguistic consciousness of the Chinese, has changed over time for various reasons, the composition and hierarchy of its components have changed. However, it was the hieroglyph 寿[shòu] of longevity, which is one of the primary components, that retained its place. This shows that long life is the main and main component of happiness.
