Annotation: This article analyzes dissertations on literary studies defended in Uzbekistan and the CIS countries in 2000–2010. The study broadly covers the main areas of scientific work during this period, the range of problems raised in dissertations, the methodological approaches used, and the scientific innovations achieved. The characteristic features of scientific research in the field of literary studies over a ten-year period, the results achieved in such areas as the history of national literature, comparative literary studies, poetics, and text analysis are scientifically summarized. The article evaluates the dissertations from the perspective of the scope of the subject, the formulation of the problem, and scientific innovations, and shows their significance for modern literary studies.
