Annotation: This article investigates the three synonyms of Japanese language, i.e. 大切な、大事なand重要な, focusing on meaning in context and grammatical patterns. The source of data: LEARN Journal Language Education and Acquisition Research Network Journal, (10, Issue 2, 2017), Robert Frost (Life magazine, Dec.1 .1961), The new century Japanese-English Dictionary Senseido 1983, Weblio 国語辞典, 正しい日本語.com. It is discovered that these three synonyms share meaning in common, however, they are not interchangeable adjectives. The definite meaning and cases of using them differ.Furthermore, the corpus-based approach delivers additional data about each adjective’s root meaning, thorough explanation and clear examples.
