Annotation: Investment treaty arbitration has become a prominent mechanism for resolving disputes between investors and states. Amidst the complexity of such proceedings, the involvement of amici curiae, or "friends of the court," has garnered significant attention. This paper delves into the legal role and position of amici curiae in investment treaty arbitration, exploring their functions, impact, and the evolving jurisprudence surrounding their participation. Through an analysis of relevant case law, scholarly literature, and institutional rules, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the significance of amici curiae in shaping the outcomes of investment treaty disputes.
