Annotation: Dry eye syndrome is a multifactorial disease characterized by visual discomfort, instability of the tear film with potential damage to the ocular surface, which significantly affects the quality of life of patients. More common in women in the menopausal and postmenopausal period. This is due to a change in the balance of sex hormones. Sex hormones affect the production of components of the tear film.
