Annotation: The article describes the creation of the International and the Republic of Uzbekistan “Red Book”, the number of species in them, the categories of species that are included in the Red Book and those that are not. Also, the lost number of plant species in the regions, the number of families and their species included in the “Red Book”, the mammals included in the Red Book found in the regions, as well as the number and differences of animal world species in the “Red Book” published in 2009-2019. The laws established in the Republic of Uzbekistan on the protection of flora and fauna are highlighted.
