Annotation: In recent decades, relations between the United States and China have become a defining factor in world politics. The rapid growth of China's economic and military power, as well as increased competition in the technological and ideological spheres, have caused growing tensions in bilateral relations. The study is aimed at analyzing the current state of US-China relations and possible scenarios for their development: from deepening confrontation and turning it into a form of a new Cold War to prospects for restoring strategic cooperation. The work is based on a systemic analysis of academic and political literature, as well as empirical data, including official statements, international agreements and economic indicators. The main focus is on the analysis of key factors influencing the choice of the vector of relations between the two world powers. In conclusion, possible forecasts and recommendations for the formation of a balanced foreign policy are formulated.
