Annotation: This article analyzes the legal status of religious organizations, their role, rights and obligations in meeting religious needs, which are important as a structure that guarantees freedom of conscience. In addition, the legal framework for the activities of religious organizations, the legislation on religious organizations and the issues of liability for their violation were studied. The article examines the current state of national criminal law on the relevant issue, a comparative analysis of the experience of developed countries.
