Annotation: There is a significant correlation between increased homocysteine concentration in established blood and total mortality in patients with cardiovascular diseases. Study of the amount of homocysteine in blood serum of experimental animals with atherosclerosis, their relationship with vascular endothelial dysfunction and types of hyperlipoproteinemia. Experiments were conducted on 28 chinchilla rabbits with an average weight of 2.5-3.0 kg. The effect of the drug was studied dynamically: the first 3-month condition and one month after taking the drug, the obtained results were compared with the results of the control and intact groups. Analysis of homocysteine levels in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol showed the opposite direction. Heparin and chitosan were the most effective, while gemfibrazil had a weak effect.
