Annotation: The article presents an analysis of foreign literature on the selection and justification of the parameters of an electric hybrid car and its components. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are one of the most promising solutions for improving fuel economy and reducing emissions. Various factors affect their fuel consumption. In this article, after briefly discussing the different types of hybrid electric vehicle configurations, energy management strategies are classified and discussed in detail. In addition, the impact of driving conditions, including traffic, road profile, driving distance, weather conditions and charging behavior on fuel economy is comprehensively analyzed. Traffic information can be obtained using the technologies of intelligent transport systems. Finally, energy storage devices commonly used in hybrid electric vehicles are presented and their advantages and disadvantages are highlighted.
