Annotation: This scientific article analyzes the relationship between legal illiteracy and the level of crime in Uzbekistan. The study examines the low level of legal knowledge in society, how citizens increase their likelihood of committing crimes, and the psychological and social factors involved in committing crimes. Based on available statistical data, judicial practices, and expert opinions, the article examines how this problem manifests itself in the experience of Uzbekistan and what approach can be used to solve this issue. The article also provides proposals for measures aimed at preventing crime by increasing legal literacy.
