Annotation: In this article, we have discussed the different aspects of the concept of "stepmother" in English and Uzbek folk tales today, as well as modern methods of developing such qualities. The cross-analysis of English and Uzbek fairy tales allows to determine how language units related to the perception and verbalization of fairy tales of different ethnic groups are formed in the human mind in the linguistic landscape of the world. Due to the fact that the content of the concept of "stepmother" is a human phenomenon with its own characteristics, the conceptual analysis of its content in the framework of linguistic and cultural studies using fairy tales is effective in identifying not only similarities, but also differences between cultures.
