Annotation: The article examines the development of legal regulation of marriage in the Republic of Uzbekistan from the point of view of historical processes. The legal regulation of marriage is analyzed, starting with the norms of the holy book of the Zoroastrians “Avesta”; the spread of the religion of Islam in Central Asia, from the 8th century to the beginning of the 20th century; the period from the mid-19th century to the state independence of Uzbekistan in 1991 to the legislative interpretations of marriage associated with the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 1991 to 1998.
