Annotation: The article scientifically substantiates the theoretical and methodological aspects of the principle of "Enlightenment versus ignorance". Human progress, knowledge and enlightenment are compared to light, ignorance - to darkness and a dark abyss leading people to destruction. Since ancient times, people have sought to fight ignorance with the help of education. Because if force is used against it, if the fight is waged through violence, ignorance will become even worse than before. The enlightened method of fighting ignorance is becoming increasingly important in the current era, even at the beginning of the 21st century, when humanity has achieved great progress in terms of development.
