Annotation: This article examines the problem of adaptation of a person to interpersonal relations in society during his social life. The essence of adaptation is noted as a set of defensive behavioral reactions of a person, including individual psychological characteristics such as temperament and psychological defense mechanisms. Research work on this topic deals with the relationship between temperament and psychological defense mechanisms.
