Annotation: This article examines the improvement of female characters in the dramaturgy of A.N. Ostrovsky and how the writer portrays them in his plays. Interest in the study of female characters in modern literature is becoming the most important direction. The purpose of this article is to identify the environment of the people and the family life of a Russian woman in the 19th century.
