Annotation: This article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the novels "Shovkin" by Erkin Azam and "Silence" by the People's Writer of Uzbekistan Said Ahmed. One of these two novels, created at the same time and in the same place, is called "Silence", and the other - "Shovkin". The article shows the landscape of that period by comparing novels with two different titles.
