Annotation: This article reveals the agglutinative features of suffixation in modern Chinese and gives a variety of affixes expressed in terms such as postfix, interfix, circumfix, etc. To understand the essence of the phenomenon of suffixation in modern Chinese, you first need to understand the suffix itself. The suffix form of a word will have a root (stem) and a suffix giving it the main lexical meaning. Affixes cannot exist outside of a word in a language; they cannot exist independently in speech. They perform grammatical functions such as word formation and word change (or form formation) to form the root or stem of a word.
Keywords: derivation, agglutination, inflection, confix, infix, prefix, ambifix.
