Annotation: This article highlights the different aspects and advantages of the competence approach from other approaches and its introduction into science. The stages of its development are explained by the opinions of scientists and the opinion of the author. Three components of the characteristics of education based on the competence approach are illustrated with examples. The reasons why trainings are conducted in vocational educational institutions based on this approach are given.
