Annotation: This academic article explores the complex field of information and information services, presenting a comprehensive analysis covering philosophical, technological and legal aspects. The study reveals the universal characteristics inherent in the cognitive process of scientific concept formation, emphasizing the dynamic interaction between the exploration of the reality of properties and relationships and the evolving needs associated with the study of material systems. The term “information service” is analyzed, the lack of a generally accepted definition is revealed, which encourages a subtle understanding of the fundamental concept of “information”. The multifaceted nature of information is explained through different perspectives, spanning philosophical, technocratic and pragmatic dimensions. Properties such as physical inalienability, reproducibility and relevance are considered in a legal context, emphasizing the economic value and legal significance of information. Despite the lack of a legally established definition of “information service,” civil law scholars have begun to define this term, highlighting its various manifestations from basic provision to complex processes. The article concludes by advocating for uniform terminology in consulting activities to reduce ambiguity and increase legal clarity.
