Annotation: The article shows that the problem of national independence and statehood of the Kurdish people is one of the most acute and complex problems. The Kurdish movement, which is one of the main factors of instability in the Middle East, has a significant impact on the internal political situation in the region. A largely similar situation is observed in Iran, where the Kurds are also denied the right to national self-determination. Leaders and activists of Kurdish opposition organizations are persecuted not only in their country, but also abroad.
