Annotation: This article analyzes the need for development of students’ professional and creative competencies in technical higher educational institutions. The article examines the meaning, composition, and interrelationship of the concepts of professional and creative competencies. Professional competency includes technical knowledge and practical skills, while creative competency includes the ability to generate new ideas and innovative approaches. The article also discusses the role of innovative teaching methods, practical training and workplace training in the development of these competencies. The processes of assessment and monitoring of professional and creative competencies and strengthening effective cooperation are discussed. The article presents recommendations for the development of professional and creative competencies in technical education and sets the prospects for further research in the field.
