Annotation: In this article, the geopolitical aspects of water-related problems will be deeply analyzed. Particularly, arising conflicts between countries due to misunderstandings in the use of water resources, the causes of the desertification in the Aral Sea and its consequences, the decline of Caspian Sea, the geopolitical aspects of the use of transboundary rivers, such as the influence of the construction of "Koshtepa" canal in Afghanistan and disagreements with the construction of the Roghun and Qambarota hydroelectric power plants and attempts to use water as a pressure weapon will be discussed.
