Annotation: This article examines modern scientific approaches to the concept of myth. Based on the views of Russian and Western scholars, the role of myth in cultural studies, philosophy, and psychology is analyzed. The findings support the understanding of myth as a universal model of human thinking. The study applies an interdisciplinary approach and identifies the primary functions of myth.
