Annotation: In this paper, the grains were classified based on the topological approach using SEM (scanning electron microscopy) images of copper alloys. A methodology for analyzing the shape and structure of grains through topological invariants, in particular, concepts such as Euler characteristics, Betti numbers, and persistent homology, is presented. The study identified the types of grains such as normal grains, porous grains, elongated grains, and fused grains, and studied their number and distribution. The porosity, deformation, and bonding properties of grains are effectively determined using the topological approach. The results showed that the analysis of the topological properties of grains can be used as an important tool for assessing the quality of materials and improving their mechanical properties. This study provides opportunities for developing new approaches to assessing the quality of materials, porosity, and deformation levels in the field of metallurgy. The effectiveness of topological classification in working with SEM images and the techniques used were also studied.
