Annotation: The article examines the scientific legacy of the prominent medieval scholar, philologist, and theologian Mahmud al-Zamakhshari (1075–1144), who played a crucial role in the development of Arabic philology, tafsir, and Islamic theology. Special attention is given to his major works, such as Al-Kashshaf ‘an Haqa’iq at-Tanzil and Al-Mufassal fi Sana‘at al-I‘rab, which had a profound influence on subsequent generations of Muslim scholars and grammarians. The study analyzes Zamakhshari’s key ideas in Arabic grammar, lexicography, Qur’anic exegesis, and his contribution to the evolution of Mu‘tazilite thought. The research highlights the significance of Zamakhshari’s works for the formation of classical Arabic linguistics and their continuing relevance in modern Orientalist discourse.
