Annotation: This article is devoted to the analysis of modern methods and approaches to teaching the Russian language in Uzbekistan. Russian Russian language teaching features in a multilingual environment are considered, as well as the role of the Russian language in the educational system of Uzbekistan. The review of scientific literature devoted to this issue is conducted, and the results of the analysis of the effectiveness of various methods of teaching the Russian language are presented. Based on the conducted research, recommendations are formulated to improve the process of teaching the Russian language in Uzbekistan.
