Annotation: The main complication of a new coronavirus infection is viral pneumonia caused by SARS-CoV-2, which alone or in combination with another pathology determines the main need for specialized medical care provided in hospitals, and occupies the main share in the structure of all hospitalized patients ( Esipov A. V. et al., 2020; Tyurin I. E. et al., 2020; Furman E. G. et al., 2020). This, in turn, requires appropriate conditions for the provision of medical care, additional resource support, a radical restructuring of the activities of infectious diseases hospitals and medical organizations repurposed for them. Viral infection with SARS-CoV-2 remains largely unexplored. At the same time, it is extremely important to conduct predictive clinical studies, which will improve the quality of diagnosis and prevent adverse outcomes of the disease. One of these most relevant areas is HLA genotyping. At the same time, such important aspects in terms of the optimal organization of medical care and adequate diagnosis of viral pneumonia caused by SARS-CoV-2 remain unexplored to date, such as: patterns of formation of the need for hospitalization and its composition; hospitalization outcomes and factors influencing them; clinical and genetic determinants of the features of the course of viral pneumonia caused by SARS–CoV–2 in hospitalized patients and the possibility of HLA genotyping in order to predict the course and outcomes of the disease; medical and organizational features of the duration of inpatient treatment in conjunction with cost parameters. The behavioral attitudes of hospitalized patients with a new coronavirus infection COVID-19, as well as the socio-psychological characteristics of the activities of the medical staff of an infectious diseases hospital (“covid hospital”) in an emergency epidemic situation, the justification of its workload and number in new organizational and technical conditions, require their study. All this fits into the need for a comprehensive scientific justification and development of the foundations for the provision of specialized medical care to the adult population in case of viral pneumonia caused by SARS-CoV-2 in stationary conditions using the example of one of the most common forms of its organization - a multidisciplinary hospital repurposed for these purposes.
