Annotation: This study is devoted to the investigation of vibration diagnostic methods for asynchronous traction electric motors (ATEM) used in modern electric locomotives. The main focus is on the analysis of vibration signals generated during the operation of electric motors in order to determine their technical condition. The study examines in detail the characteristics of the vibration spectrum, especially in the case of defects on the inner or outer ring of the bearings, as well as the dynamics of their changes. Spectrograms clearly show the differences between serviceable and damaged conditions. The analysis indicates that, despite the presence of changes in the high-frequency vibration range, this is not always a clear sign of a defect. Therefore, a comprehensive approach must be used in diagnostics, including spectral analysis, logical filtering, and the establishment of deviation thresholds. The results of the study are of great practical importance for the accurate assessment of the condition of the ATED, early detection of malfunctions, and improvement of operational reliability.
