Annotation: This article explores the impact of folic acid deficiency on fetal anomalies, particularly neural tube defects (NTDs), in the Aral Sea region. The study findings indicate that folic acid deficiency is widespread in this region, significantly increasing the risk of NTDs and other congenital defects. The article analyzes the role of folic acid in fetal development, as well as the geographic and ecological factors affecting food products and public health in the area. The results confirm the efficacy of folic acid supplementation in reducing the incidence of NTDs and other congenital anomalies. The study underscores the necessity of introducing fortified food products and specific supplements for pregnant women in the Aral Sea region. These findings provide a crucial scientific basis for shaping public health policy and guiding future research in this area.
