Annotation: This article analyzes the first written sources about the importance of metals and products from them in the life of the peoples of Central Asia and provides scientifically substantiated facts. At the same time, the role of material and written sources in the study of the history of mining is revealed. They provide information about Central Asia as well as Eastern countries. Changes and achievements in this area in our country are also analyzed.
