Annotation: This article offers a comparative analysis of the linguacultural characteristics of somatic phraseological units (SPUs) containing "head" and "face" components in the Uzbek and Japanese languages. The study aims to develop a systemic model of national-cultural outlooks, emotional evaluations, and socio-pragmatic functions encoded through body-part terms in these units, as well as to identify conceptual similarities and divergences between the two languages. The methodology integrates corpus-based selection, semantic motivation analysis, cognitive metaphor and metonymy approaches, and conceptual domain mapping.

Keywords: somatic phraseologism, head component, face component, linguaculturology, cognitive metaphor, comparative analysis, pragmatics, cultural script.
