Annotation: This article discusses the mechanisms and international documents that ensure gender balance in the political sphere, as well as the evolution of the participation of women in the social and political life of Uzbekistan in, the effectiveness of existing legislation and state institutions in this direction. The possibilities and problems of women's representation in parliament and other leadership positions are explored and conclusions and recommendations are given to ensure the active participation of women in the political life of the country.
