Annotation: This article analyzes the legal documents regulating the provision of free legal assistance at the expense of the state. The author studied the national legislation on providing free legal assistance and other legal categories and started a scientific discussion. At the same time, the right to free legal assistance at the expense of the state, the measures being implemented in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the existing problems in the system were thoroughly analyzed, scientific and theoretical conclusions were drawn, and suggestions were put forward.
