Annotation: This article explores the philosophical and methodological foundations of Gaia theory, which interprets the relationship between humans and nature in a completely new ontological dimension. The aim of the study is to demonstrate the limitations of the classical scientific paradigm based on the mechanics of René Descartes and Isaac Newton against the backdrop of contemporary environmental crises, and to reveal the moral and philosophical significance of perceiving the planet as a self-regulating (homeostatic) holistic macroorganism. This study utilized systems analysis methods, principles of holism, and a comparative philosophical approach.
