Annotation: The article scientifically analyzes the problem of understanding the national identity of young people in the information society. The historical development of mankind shows that self-awareness, first of all, of the essence of human existence is manifested through spiritual reality, honor, dignity and prestige. Understanding the meaning and purpose of life begins with self-awareness. Since its foundations are embodied in the national idea, it serves the understanding of identity and is inextricably linked with each other.
